Keeping it Real

ICE T is celebrating his 48th Birthday today.

He has turned his life around, starting off as a rapper, laying down lyrics with Arsenio Hall. He became known as the godfather of gangsta music, rapping about killing cops on the song subtely titled "Cop Killer". He is an entrepeneuar, in that he formed his own record label (after being dropped by Sony). And he hosted "Ice T's Pimping 101." Now he plays a cop on TV and provides voiceovers for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas as well as Dark Wing Duck.

Throughout his career as a rap artist, tv and film actor, and always public figure, Ice T has learned quite a bit about race relations and how to make appeals across various racial divides.

In his own words:
" I bring black people and ethnic people. I bring an edge to the show, because at any moment I might smack the shit out of somebody."

Give them what they want, Ice, give them what they want.

Engaging the Celebrities

Jim Wallis is totally lame with his color code for God. Not blue, Not red, not pin striped. Geez. Back off. And he wants us to become involved with the poor? Why? What's the gain in that? The poor don't shape the culture, or change the world. You know who shapes culture? Who changes the world? Hugh Hefner. We should have a ministry for him. Every morning we'll get together in the hill hall lounge and pray for him and then we'll mail him religious tracts, and then at night in the hill hall movie lounge we will scour his publications and see if our ministry is making any marked difference. It worked for Mel Gibson it can work for Hugh!
